Most highwire acts belong in the circus. But the Highwire Gallery group is currently in residence at the Riverfront Renaissance Center for the Arts in Millville for a mixed media exhibition on display through the end of August.

The Highwire Gallery group of artists is a non-profit cooperative dedicated to risk-taking, experimentation and collaboration with other disciplines in art

Initially organized in 1987 but "homeless," the group led a nomadic existence, exhibiting at unconventional locales like synagogues and funeral parlors.

The unusual name "Highwire" was based on their initial venue at a Philadelphia synagogue. The space was so huge that the group decided to hang their work on crossed wires strung from corner to corner. More

Take a 'Journey Through Impressionism' at Ocean Galleries exhibit in Stone Harbor

Starting this weekend, Ocean Galleries in Stone Harbor presents "Journey Through Impressionism," a show featuring artwork by more than 17 master artists, including Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Mary Cassatt, Paul Cezanne, Edouard Manet and others. The show will be on display Friday, June 27 through July 6.
